Dan Balogh, VMD
Surgical Intern, Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine
Dr. Dan Balogh grew up in Morris Plains, NJ. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in German at Georgetown University, in Washington D.C. Dr. Balogh went on to obtain his VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He received scholarships and honors as a student, graduating Cum Laude from Georgetown, as well as earning the Edith and Herman Lehman Foundation Intern Award while at The Animal Medical Center in New York, NY.
After veterinary school, he continued his education completing a 1-year rotating internship in medicine and surgery at The Animal Medical Center in New York, NY, followed by a 1-year surgical internship at Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center in Dallas, TX.
Dr. Baloghs’ current and upcoming research studies include evaluation of a novel surgical technique to improve elbow incongruity in dogs, clinical application of a bioabsorbable antibiotic elution system, and evaluation of risk factors associated with morbidity and mortality following ovariohysterectomy for pymoetra in the dog. Dr. Balogh is proficient in the German language and enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and especially his 11 year old yellow Labrador Retriever “Maggie.”
