Gayle Jaeger, a native of Long Island New York, is a graduate of Syracuse University and earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University. After receiving her DVM, she completed an academic internship at Oklahoma State University and a specialized surgical internship in Orlando, Florida at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Jaeger returned to North Carolina State University for her surgical residency training where she also earned a Masters degree in Specialized Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Jaeger, was inducted into the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2004.

Dr. Jaeger is an advocate of rehabilitation therapy and has attended the University of Tennessee’s Canine Rehabilitation Program. She also has a strong interest in orthopedic research and has authored several scientific articles. Dr. Jaeger has assisted in teaching labs for the Biomedtrix non cemented BFX total hip system. Her expertise in this area allowed VOSM to expand its total hip program to include the BFX and CFX systems and the cemented microsystem for small dogs and cats. Dr. Jaeger also has an interest in complicated fracture repair and orthopedic diseases in cats.

Areas of Expertise:

Dr. Jaeger's surgical training includes general, orthopedic, and neurosurgery. She is a member of the American Society of Internal Fixation (AO/ASIF). Dr. Jaeger is certified in total elbow and total hip replacement surgeries. She is also certified to perform the Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) for the treatment of cranial cruciate ligament insufficiency.
