Many of the cases seen by VOSM are referred by their primary care veterinary practitioner, however, we do allow for direct access without the referral from their veterinarian.  Optimal patient care entails communication between the client, veterinary specialist, and the primary care veterinarian regarding the patient’s medical history, previous schedules of treatment, and specific medications etc.  If you think your pet has an orthopedic injury, scheduling a consultation with a board-certified surgeon at VOSM is the first step to diagnose and treat the injury.

Upon completion of the consultation or recovery from surgery, your primary care veterinarian will be contacted by telephone and/or with a complete written report regarding the care and management of your pet.
